My paraprofessional coordinator asked me the other day if Hubby Bob would be interested in riding in a school vehicle with students for the rest of the year. He went right in and applied. Today he visited with her. Problem is, someone else she called first FINALLY got back to her. She will decide by Monday. Bob would enjoy doing this. Fingers crossed for him. It gives him a lift in his step just to be considered.

Is this for security reasons or just helping load/unload some less able kids? Does he need any special qualifications? I would hope that his quick application would count in his favor, in view of the fact that the other applicant had to think about it for a while. Good luck to Bob.

The way I understand it, of the three students in the bus (Suburban) only one needs supervision. She says he needs someone to listen to him, he wants to talk constantly. Also to redirect him if he is not on an appropriate subject. She could always have Bob be a substitute on the various vehicle routes that require a para.
