Anyone familiar with chicken katsu? Chicken katsu or chicken cutlet is basically flatten chicken coated with breadcrumbs before deep fry. Of course it's more complicated than that instead of just coating it. I found the frozen one the other day. 4 pieces for RM18. But it's a spicy version therefore Lil Bro might not like it. I usually eat it at sushi restaurant so I never make one myself. But I'm not interested with dining in anywhere at this moment, why not try making my own. Here I am trying to learn the recipe
You only need 6 easy ingredients to make homemade chicken katsu, also called panko chicken, Japanese fried chicken, etc. I even tossed in a homemade tonkatsu...

I've tried my own chicken pieces in what I thought was spicy breadcrumbs but it wasn't spicy after all.. I think that most chicken that is fried at home here is breaded unless someone is dieting then they might leave of the breadcrumbs.
I found a low carb bread crumbs mix that's also paleo and tasty.

I'm not keen on chicken katsu but it's OK. My sons like it. I've never made it. Perhaps I'll try. I do enjoy cooking.
