Internet connectivity seems to be playing games

Just a few days back, I was working on my official laptop. The going was smooth. Yet somehow after some time, my connectivity suddenly seemed to crawl and then there was a disruption. I tried with a different connection option but things did not work for some 15-20 minutes. In fact, I turned up 15 mins late for an audio meeting. Things can get annoying at times. Plus I think with even more people coming back to staying at home or working from home due to the worsened situation, lockdowns and restrictions, more people could be using Internet at home. The bright side is that people across teams do understand such issues and can accommodate. But well, one cannot feel but being uneasy at times.

Internet does this sometimes. We all experience this.

It happens... in my office there some places where internet doesn't work at all so we have to avoid standing or sitting on those spots.

@sjvg1976 It is something that even I observed. The advantage of an office setup though is of a higher Internet speed. So you would have to wear a mask the whole day in the office?

@m_audrey6788 Probably weather and the number of people using Internet causes it.

@sjvg1976 Yes I hope it works well. I had purchased a separate device for connectivity back in Sep 2020.

@just4him Currently it is fine but the problem looks more acute on the weekdays. May be more people are working from home, leading to the bandwidth issues. Plus such issues cause even bigger problem during office work and meeting times.

That can get very frustrating. Something is chewing up our data much more than it should but we can't work out what is doing it.

@JudyEv The most irritating part is when we get connectivity issues during important meetings.

@JudyEv Well that was related to the falling cost of electronics devices with technological advances but even this would be having some name.

@DianneN More irritating when we have some important calls or work to complete.

We got similar problems during the lockdown periods. These days, I use the cable to connect mine directly. (Wifi has become bad for some reason since.)

@YrNemo I am not going for Fibre Optics cable connection due to some reasons. Plus if light goes and power backup sets in, the router restarts and well, some other issues as well. So that is why I have a special high speed Wi-Fi device plus two mobile hotspots.
