Another Quick Visit from a NZ MyLotter

Hullo to all my myLot friends. In spite of my best intentions I just haven't been near myLot for ages. I have been writing though, lots of various little projects, and that along with swimming has kept me rather occupied. I've also had an amazing holiday on Stewart Island, New Zealand's tiny island just to the south of the South Island. The Maori name for Stewart Island is Rakiura. It's a very small community, with few modern day distractions. That suited me nicely. I was able to walk, sightsee, connect with nature, read, eat lots of delicious fresh seafood and just generally relax. I may get to write more about it, but I won't promise, as you all know how irregular I am on here! The view above is taken from a hill on Stewart Island, just to give you an idea of how beautiful and remote the area is. I hope you are all well and healthy. I'm about to go and read some of your more recent posts.

Sounds awesome . Good for you. You think I can get deported by America if I say you my relative. I think I seriously want to get deported to New Zealand.

Ha, ha, currently you couldn't come here even if you were deported. We're closed to all but NZ and Australian citizens.

Thanks, yes it was very pretty. Stewart Island and it's surrounding smaller islands are predator free, so the natural wildlife thrives. Very wet and lush down there, rain forest country.

@DianneN maybe one day our borders will reopen! Currently it's only NZ and Australian citizens who can arrive here without quarantine, and returning NZers who go into 2 weeks quarantine. But, if the day ever comes, and you do get here, i'd love to show you our country!

Yes, it is rather cool down there. Rain forest and being predator free keeps it lush.

Yes, we hear so many terrible stories from what is happening in the rest of the world. I am so grateful to be in new Zealand. We've recently opened our borders to Australian arrivals without them having to go into quarantine. But only NZ and Aussie citizens.

@xFiacre what a waste of champagne! Earlier in the year there were still a few internationals who had arrived for a 12 month tour / visit and so they decided to stay. They were probably glad they did the way things turned out. Who would have believed Covid would still be grabbing the headlines over a year later.
