Ahh springtime, not too hot not too cold, just right! Like Goldilocks sampling baby bear's porridge in the fairy tale. The perfect time to venture outside and enjoy the "beautiful" weather! And speaking of beautiful things here's Gordon Lightfoot's song "Beautiful," to set the tone to our trivia quiz and those spring "days" ahead. Hope you enjoyed listening to that "beautiful" song about a woman the singer must have loved very very much... Now it's time to name that tune and the artists who recorded them- Whodunnit? (Remember words in quotations can provide hints to the music trivia answers) 1. One thing about the change of season from winter to spring is more sunshine. Many artists have celebrated the warmth writing tunes with "sun" in the title. Gordon Lightfoot also had a "sun-titled" song which was one of his biggest hits. Although I think all of Gord's work is # 1, this song "was" the only # 1 song he had on the Hot 100 charts. -Do you know the name of Lightfoot's very popular tune? 2. This song is as about "a man who has lost everything, but finds joy in what he still has." On the UK charts, this "Irish band's" 2000 tune went to #1 its first week. From the title I always thought the man was celebrating a terrific "day" of sunshine and temperatures? Maybe that little bit of joy he has is part of that. Anyway, the artist described the tune as a celebration of being alive and counting your blessings, no matter how hard, uncomfortable, and upsetting things are at present. This group has been around since it's formation in Dublin, Ireland in 1976. "Two of members" of this band are known "by one name" just like another fellow musician Sting. This band has had some monster hits including "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "With or Without You" and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". -Do you know the name of this very successful Irish band and their "happy-feeling' song? 3. This song is an upbeat and optimistic tune about "waking up to a wonderful day." It's about getting outside when the sun is shining and "planning a brand new day." Here are a few of those happy song lyrics: "children with robins and flowers, Sunshine caresses each new waking hour, Seems to me that the people keep seeing More and more each day; gotta say, lead the way It's okay..." That tune makes me want to "take in some clean fresh air, boy!" Now, this 1968 top ten hit by this American Blue-eyed Soul/Pop band was the first recorded under "their new name." Previously the group used the name "Young ___________s" to not be confused with another band during that time. This band had great chart success with songs like "Good Lovin', "I've Been Lonely Too Long," and "Groovin." "People Got to Be Free", a horn-punctuated plea for racial tolerance was their last top ten hit in 1968, reaching the top of the charts at #1 in both the U.S. and Canada. -Do you know this 60's Rock band from NJ and their song celebrating the terrific sights and sounds of a sunshine day? Ok, let's not "spring any leaks" trying to solve these song and artist answers. If your stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or as The Four Tops would say in song, "Reach Out And I'll Be There." *Feel free to share a favorite song which makes you feel it's spring. Who knows, maybe it will show up on a later quiz of mine. Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! Until Next Saturday... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com Photo- youtube.com

Good old Gordon Lightfoot. He had some amazing music that was great to listen to any time, any place. I am going to say that #1 tune is Sundown, #2 in my compilation. As for #2 in YOUR compilation I am going to with U2's Beautiful Day. #3 is alluding me... Meantime, thought I'd share a link just because it seemed like a good spot to plop one down, and what the hell?

@dgobucks226 It is a great song and they don't make music like that much anymore. I really struggled on the Michael Jackson song though. Oh well. If I ever thought I needed to accomplish anything more than making a fool out of myself...what else would be the worth? lol Love the song you shared as well.

Oh no, I "sprung a trap on you with this quiz!" Good news #3 is correct Now, "beautiful" is your title clue, a song recorded by a group with the letter 'U" and a number after it for #2. Gord's song was what happens every day when the sun sets. The sun goes ______________. Put them together for Mr. Lightfoot's hit song!
