My parents went walking in a park and they found lily of the valley flowers.
Mom took some for herself and took some to me.
When she came to drop them off she showed me a mushroom she found on her walk.
It was a morel.
I once saw dried morels in Whole Foods Market selling for $299/lb.
I am not sure how much fresh morels cost but they must be expensive if the dried ones cost that much.
I haven't seen them for sale anywhere from what I remember.
I wanna go to that park Wednesday and see if I can spot any morels.
It's the season for them.

The mushrooms do grow in our rural home at a specific time of the year. So we never buy. We could eat once a year or two years

Just be careful and be sure it's a morel if you decide to pick and eat some.

@LindaOHio I doubt that will happen. And hubby told me that Sunday is Mother's Day.

I wanna go with hubby. Otherwise it will be a long commute to go via public transportation.
The mushroom she found was definitely a morel. I doubt there is a mushroom that looks like it but is something else.
