Oh, you know there's a lot to do in a countdown where this song is so low on the list! That's one of the things about this particular countdown (requested by @Dena91 ) that made it difficult: so many great songs on the Motown family of labels, which one to pick???? Many coins were flipped. The winner here..... #7: Stop! In the Name of Love - Supremes Talk about an appropriately-named group! The Supremes reigned supreme for Motown, scoring a dozen #1 hits. Where do you go when you talk about this great group? Well, I ended up going here. And, for the record, Diana Ross' solo #1 hit, "Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To)" was one of the last songs cut. So there was a treasure trove of music to pick from. But I only got to pick one. So I went with one of my favorites, not just from them but from all the 60s soul collection. Stop! In the Name of Love Written by Holland/Dozier/Holland Recorded by the Supremes From More Hits By the Supremes, 1965 Think it over:

Many terrific songs to choose from that could of made your list. You could easily have made an exception to your rule with this countdown. One of my favorites is "My World Is Empty Without You."

It would have been for “Where Did Our Love Go.” Talk about a tough decision!

@FourWalls Yes, you couldn't turn on the radio in the 60's without hearing a Supremes latest hit! An aptly named group as you correctly pointed out

Love it! As Bob Hope used to say “thanks for the memories.”

Speaking of memories, how about those Bob Hope specials. And him looking so dignified in his tuxedo when he hosted the Oscars every year.

@FourWalls Yes, my family never missed a Bob Hope special! I also loved the movie with him and Lucille Ball.

I love this one!!!! I always wondered if someone would stop because of the name of something. I mean why do we stop at stop signs?
