Oh, you know there's a lot to do in a countdown where this song is so low on the list! That's one of the things about this particular countdown (requested by @Dena91 ) that made it difficult: so many great songs on the Motown family of labels, which one to pick???? Many coins were flipped. The winner here..... #7: Stop! In the Name of Love - Supremes Talk about an appropriately-named group! The Supremes reigned supreme for Motown, scoring a dozen #1 hits. Where do you go when you talk about this great group? Well, I ended up going here. And, for the record, Diana Ross' solo #1 hit, "Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To)" was one of the last songs cut. So there was a treasure trove of music to pick from. But I only got to pick one. So I went with one of my favorites, not just from them but from all the 60s soul collection. Stop!
