Yes, thank you. My two millennial girls always surprise me on Mother's Day. I think it's a millennial cup of tea. Mother's Day is not in our culture till the last two decades. We adapted America's Mother's Day. Here's to a wonderful Mother's Day to you.

@kobesbuddy Yup. It's a beautiful tradition America started the world with. Except England, I think, which celebrates Mother's Day on a different date. But the dates may be different but the theme is the same - a day to appreciate mothers. One sermon I heard said our God knew He couldn't be literally supervising physically, so He created mothers to do the job for Him.

My dear @florelway, sweet friend, I did think I was going to enjoy single blessedness and just teach college till I become the bespectacled spinster, but I was surprised to have two girls of my own. We each have our calling. Like me, my two girls don't even date. They are so preoccupied with their careers. And if they choose not to marry, that's fine with me. It would always be a life of service for others. Admirable, this dedicated life of service is. Like yours. Celebrate! You have a mother's heart.

@florelway I see your posts and you are so enterprising. I don't think I'd ever sit on a rocking chair and crochet. Never good at the needle stuff. The in-thing is painting. Many friends have taken to paint brushes and water colors. Gardening is a preference though I cannot lift pots. I just love the smell of fresh air under the blue skies. Exciting to see blossoms, too. But you are correct. We are the wordy ones who write down history as it happens. Am really enjoying seeing the world in a small screen. And putting in my sixty cents worth. One thing for sure - age is just a number. Except for the greying hair, we are very much who we are still. Nothing boring except the repetitive news.

@eileenleyva thanks for the inspiring and supportive message. Yes true, each one of us has her/his own calling. Reflecting on my present situation why am I so busy everday when there are no kids to attend to? Am I working hard for others? Lol this is the path less travelled and I am fine, at least I haven't reach the stage of sitting on a rocking chair and crocheting. The modern world lets us sit in front of laptops or phones to pass boredom.

The strawberry cheesecake is perfect, not too sweet. The empanada, would you believe, is filled with super yum vegetables! Thought I was succumbing to sinful pleasure but gosh, all the food were made for me.

I know. I was indeed surprised. I told them years ago not to make much ado about occasions for me and spare me the flowers. So I get my favorite food as a special treat instead. A bit pricey but that's okay. Thank you.
