Surely we all recall the fictional character from the 1939 movie classic "Wizard of Oz". It was taken from the Land of Oz series created by author L. Frank Baum. I recall watching it annually around Easter time. Never read any of the books though. Come to find out, in my reading across the web, that Oz's full name was Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkle Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs. He revealed his full name to Dorothy in the fourth novel of the Oz series. He had planned to shorten it by just using the initials but that would have made it O.Z.I.N.H.E.A.D. and so he just shortened it to Oz. Did you enjoy the movie? Have you read any of the series of novels?

If you watch the 1939 version of the movie; she starts walking the yellow brick road in the land of Munchens. If you take a closer look; you can see the beginning part of a red brick road. I wonder where that road goes?

Oh, yes, I loved the movie. it was great back in the old days when it was on CBS once a year on a Friday night, and it was a BIG DEAL. I’ve never read Baum’s original novel, though.

I never did either. Didn't even know there were several until about ten years ago.

A long time ago I watched a movie based on Baum's life. I enjoyed that movie and wish I could find it again. My family loves to joke around. "If you don't quit doing that, I'll get you and your little dog, too!!"
