Paying bills online good or bad

I was wondering how safe it is to pay bills online that lots of corporations smalls and big ones pushing to do it. Let face it, they have your name,address,account number,credit or debit card number.So what else they need to sell your info to a 3rd party and more.They can profit from saving on stamps and print bills also they can make money selling your info. I am old fashion will refuse to go for it.

If you are paying it through safe and secure gateways, you are safe. I have been paying all my bills online since years now..find it convenient.

That's real good but every so often you read in all newspapers about this account was hacked but
at the end of day you are ok that is the most important.

@coolsite I use secure payment gateways and make sure that I don't save my credit card details anywhere. And to logout well after the transaction

It depends on who you are and what you're doing. I pay a lot of my bills online as well use tap and pay, in stores. I can understand your concern with online payments. I would be, too if I didn't know as much as I do. Nowadays technology has evolved to the point, that when you pay anything online, a fake number is used. your actual card information is secure to the point you can't even see it. If you can, then chances are it's not secure. If you go to a website, look for it to say https or have a lock symbol somewhere. It means the site is encrypted with two-way encryption.
I've been using online banking, online bill pay, for just about.... everything. for years. Nothing has happened that I don't know about.

Wow , thanks so much for your feed back. I really didn't know so much involved paying bills online.
Again I am old fashion and prefer to write a check and mail it. I did try couple of bills online because
the company without asking me they change their way of accepting payments. Every body have
to use the automated system to pay.

I use to pay by mail, but since the pandemic I pay online, because mail is too slow, and my payment is late.

Yes indeed me too, we are old fashioned people and there is nothing wrong with that.To be safe is
pretty important. Last year in Target store thousands of accounts were hacked, this is scare the hell'out of me. Be safe.

I've been paying my bills online for years. I have 1 bill that doesn't take online payments. I have to pay my rent online, it's required. I've never had an issue. If they want to find you, they will find you. I actually hardly ever write a check, just for that one bill per month. I can check my bank accounts online anytime I want to and see all the transactions.

I am glad all OK by you paying all your bills online . You know I am old fashion and been paying bills for so many years using check and mail it. But I guess our progress promotes so many changes in our life.
I will try to adopt my self to these changes .

At first, I was also adamant to use online platforms to pay my bills. But when I finally tried it and realized how easy and safe it was, I was doing it ever since. Just make sure you're using trusted and safe platforms. For me, I use Gcash and Coins. ph

If really depends on the site you use when paying online. But for me, it's really convenient to pay bills online at the comfort of our home. But make sure to use trusted and reliable online payment apps! Search it on the goggle, read the reviews and ask your friends or whom you know might using them. With the situations were facing right now, for me it better to pay bills online through a reliable payment app.
