In 1963 The Beatles were at number one on the UK album chart with their debut album Please Please Me. They stayed at the top for 30 weeks making this album the longest-running number-one album by a group ever. In 1965 Roger Miller was at number one on the US Country chart with "King Of the Road" In 1992 Roxette had their fourth US number-one single with"Joyride" The inspiration for the song came from an interview in which Paul McCartney said that writing songs with John Lennon had been "like a joyride."

McCarthney, Lennon and Roxette are more familiar to me. Maybe the songs of Miller are familiar, but I don't remember. Thanks for sharing, I'll try to listen to him. Thanks a bunch.

Great song and the first one issued in America! Almost their first #1 single.. Their next single, "From Me to You," became their first official #1.

Love Roger Miller. A friend wrote a biography of him and had to self-publish it because all the publishers thought no one remembered Roger.

Rosette, Joyride, now that brings back a few memories right enough. Not so much the Beatles.though Was never really a fan four fan Lennon and Harrison and Ringo were ok though, Harrison the most talented of them all.

Three great artists/groups. I remember when Please Please Me came out and the Beatles captured the world's attention.
