Do turkeys eat bread?

My neighbors like to throw bread out onto the street by their house. They don't do it all the time but I see bread on the ground often. I guess they are doing it to feed birds. This week I saw a male turkey by their house and it stood their waiting, his call frequent and loud. I wonder if he was there because he saw bread there before and had some. Do turkeys eat bread? And what do they actually eat? I am assuming that this turkey that's been roaming around our street is a wild turkey.

They love corn, acorns, grass, lizards, snakes, insects. You can feed them bread but I was always told it has to be fresh and small amounts. When it gets wet it can stick in their digestive system.

They can eat bread as long as it doesn't have mold on it. However, there is not much nutritional value in it for them so amount should be limited.

@lovebuglena That wouldn't have bothered them. I've heard though that molded bread is not good for them.

I thought about giving it bread once recently but hesitated. Plus, it wasn't that soft anymore.

It's not really good for them from what some have told me.

Oh...on Staten? Nonetheless, all over the world birds adore bread. I saw people throwing it out on balconies and gardens.

There is hospital in Staten Island and there are a lot of turkeys there roaming around and sitting on trees too.
