This might sound pathetic, but I'm proud of myself.

I'm sorry if this comes across as something so little but for me, I was proud of myself.
I have no idea how this happened but our bathroom door locked from the inside. I can only assume I didn't turn the lock the full way to unlock it after I had a shower. Not long after I had a shower I closed all the doors in the house as it's a bit cold and I put the heater on for a little bit in the lounge room.
Anyway, I needed the bathroom to wash my hands but I couldn't get in. I walked down to my brother's room and told him the door wasn't opening. To which he said "Try again." I looked at him and said "I know how to open a door and this one isn't opening." He said "Try again." More stricter I said "Andrew, the door is locked!"
But of course, he went down there to try open it himself. What am I stupid? I know when a door is locked! Goodness me! Sometimes he can treat me like I am a little girl. Like I don't know how the world works. Maybe this is why I am happy with this story!
Anyway, I sat back down in the lounge room and thought that I will just tell my dad when he gets back. (he is with his crazy ex girlfriend who needs a straight jacket - sorry couldn't not say it) but I thought to myself "No, try figure this out yourself. What would I do if I were living by myself?!"
So I grabbed a skewer, pushed it in, and managed to open it up again. Like I said, such a little thing but I had a go and I fixed it! All by myself. Whoop!
Have you ever done something by yourself that you were proud of?

We are all geniuses but we don“t know it till we get to find out.
What I mean is we are all clever even if we might not think so.
All this Spanish turns my head upside down.

@VivaLaDani13 My husband is like your Dad, when he is stressed, he arrives to stress me a lot. I try to do things without even letting him know.

@LadyDuck I'm sorry to know that. If it's ok to ask, can arguments happen if you try to calm his stress or try to tell him not to be stressed?

@LadyDuck Thank you so much! I can understand that for sure. Well, I mean with a different person. My dad can be pretty impatient sometimes and once that starts, it stresses me out. So like you, I prefer to try handle things on my own first.

Love it!
Nah, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I feel guilty easily and hate takings things that aren't mine. I remember some years ago now, I was taking clothes out of the washing machine, and I found 10 cents that must have come out of someone's pocket. I asked my dad and brother if it could have be theirs. They ended up both saying I could have it but thought it was weird I didn't just take it as it was only 10 cents.

I see why you are proud of yourself. Every time I do something beyond my normal skill set it gives me a boost in confidence. Evidently this type of door is known for accidentally locking. Where my sister lives the apartment complex attaches a small screwdriver with a cord so that they can use it, as you did the skewer, to force it open.
