Baby Robins Have Flown the Coop

Have been checking on the Robin babies in my holly bush for 12 day now. Friday was the last day I was able to get a photo. A very protective Mom did her job. Today I went out for a quick peek and all three were gone. Flew the coop, as my Dad used to say. I am sure they are close to the Mom, and she is in the magnolia tree, making lots of noise to protect them. I am sure they will be safe. And with the Mom they have, I am sure they will be. Photo is mine.

That time passed so quickly. I hope that you see them flying about this summer.

I've never seen a robin before and know nothing about them but from what you've stated I gather she will attack any intruder who gets too close to her babies.

I don't have any low lying brush so I'll never get too close to any baby birds, probably a good thing.

She will, and almost attacked me, but i was very careful. Most mommas are like this.

I've been chased away from baby birds, even though I had no idea where the nest was!

I don't see very many robins around where I live. I am sure they are out there though.

What a great photo! Two days ago I found a broken robin's egg on the ground. I'm blaming the squirrels!

@CarolDM Too bad not all mothers are like that. I think that in the animal world it rarely happens that a mother rejects a child, but in the human world that is a very common case.
