Scrunchies

Maybe Not.
I have hair ties because I am going to make up a few lariat style towel rings and see if they sell. Well I happened to think "You could do scrunchies too."
Well, I've nixed that idea. There's a seller in my city who listed scrunchies weeks ago. So many other sellers have them listed too.
What's a lariat style towel ring?
Crochet around a hair tie then crochet a band between the two. You loop the band around the stove or cabinet and then put your towel between the two loops. I use one for my dish towel now.

That's really sweet of you to say.
My mom was the one with the talent for it. I consider myself beginner intermediate.

I thought so too. I think I may try to crochet it in a way that it looks like a flower.

These towel rings are pretty and very convenient, that's for sure!

Absolutely!
I've seen people make their own tea towels by using flour sack towels and printing a design on it themselves. That's not me, but it's an awesome idea.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Flour or sugar sacks? They were made of material. My grandma would take empty bags and make her children's underpants! LOL My father said he had one pair, with XXX on the seat end!

I just had the idea to make it look like a flower (the lariat one) if I can.

Scrunchies would be cool if others didn't have them listed. What you are making though sounds nice!

@ScribbledAdNauseum I do understand that, I'm always thinking about the $$ too.
Those all sound good though, and hopefully they will all do well!

@ScribbledAdNauseum I admire people who have good hand skills. I am bad with my hands. Maybe if I watched a video in slow mo step by step I could do it. I used to get so frustrated trying to learn to knit.

@snowy22315 I'm not sure I could learn to knit. I admire those who have, but I feel like one hand would want to get carried away while the other was just too sluggish.

A little finicky at first (trying to crochet around a ring or hair tie) but yep, fun once you get past that first row.

I have a few of those towels that my Aunt made and gave me.
I would have thought scrunchies would have been a big seller.

I would have thought the same, but I guess not. Or they might be, but there's so many listings that I'm not even going to bother throwing my hat in the ring.

@Marilynda1225 Exactly. Unless I can come up with something different, I won't even try scrunchies.

@ScribbledAdNauseum true, you don't want to try to sell in an oversaturated market.

That's what I am thinking. I have seen towel rings on facebook marketplace, but I am going to make three different types. Eventually I'd like to do towel toppers, but I'm in no hurry for those.

@LindaOHio Sewing yarn onto the towel so you can then crochet a design and handle / button for putting around the oven handle.
