Email actually NOT from PayPal

I was looking through my email just now and came upon an email from PayPal Assistant. Just from seeing that name, I knew right away the email was not actually from PayPal.
I went into it anyway just to see the sender's email and it confirmed it was not from PayPal. The body of the email said they believe that a third party tried accessing my account and so they temporarily restricted access to my account and removed my credit card and bank account info. To regain access to my account I had to follow certain steps. There were no steps but a button to click on to regain access to my account. Of course, I did nothing as I knew it was a scam.
I am surprised that this email was in my inbox. Usually emails like this end up in my Junk/Spam folder.

That kind of stuff really annoys me. Had a bunch of spam calls yesterday and finally stopped answering the phone.

If it is an unknown number I never pick up the phone unless I am expecting a call from someone and I do not know their number.

@LindaOHio I don't pick up the phone if it's a number I don't know. I figure if it's a legit call and it's something important they will leave a voicemail.

@lovebuglena Me too! I got really annoyed yesterday because it was about the 10th call about Medicare something-or-other.

I've had a few emails get through my spam filter recently too. Recently it's been people trying to spoof amazon since I have ordered from them a few times recently.

I've gotten "Amazon" emails as well but they went to the junk folder right away.

@lovebuglena I need to check my filters because I've had some non junk to the junk mail folder recently.

That is annoying. I had one of those emails in my inbox and I tried to delete it (using my phone) and could not.

Did you redirect that email to PayPal spoofing email? That's what we're supposed to do with those. Then PayPal can trace them and get the authorities to arrest the people sending them.
The email is spoof@paypal.com
Don't do anything but send the email to them. PayPal will take care of the rest.

I didn't do that. I had no idea about that.

I get so many scam PayPal emails that I don’t open any of them now. Everything goes right into the delete file.

Recently, I got a scam email from PayPal and I was not even able to delete it. I was using the mail app on my iPhone. I was able to delete it later thankfully.

I’m getting so tired of these scam calls and emails. We have to be really careful nowadays.

@Ladanger I sometimes get the spam calls. I do not pick up unknown numbers. If a voicemail is left it is usually in Chinese.

Some spam emails are very believable and look almost real.

Yes. Sadly, there are people that fall for these kinds of scams.

That's the best thing to do. I usually do not even open them and delete right away.
