Crimson Crepe Myrtle Has Buds

Talked about one of the Crepe Myrtle bush in my yard a week or so ago. Today I noticed one has buds. This is a great sign. The leaves are also coming out on the bush. And a few blooms have appeared as well. Soon the birds will enjoy these buds and the tree will be full of blooms. Funny how that works. First comes the leaves. Then the buds, then the blooms and more leaves. Crepe Myrtle is a great bush or tree to have. I have four on the side of the house in the front. And one older one up against the end of the house (it has become a tree), looks great. The flowers and trees make me happy. Photo is mine. *Update: A video to explain the difference between "flower buds" and "seed pods".

Would they be berries or buds then?

Whatever you want to call them I suppose. From The Farmers Almanac.... "The balls at the end of crape myrtle branches are seed pods that formed from the flowers last summer."

@vandana7 I just added a video that explains it better than I could. The berries that I have always called them, are actually buds. The seed pods come later. Hope that makes sense. I remember growing up and my grandparents had these all over the yard. We always referred to these as berries.

I'm sure the flower looks wonderful when it fully blooms. That's one of the best parts of spring. Reading about the new life.
