A White Feather.

Mornings are spent cleaning the yard. Bunch of leaves did greet me daily all the long hot season. No complaints. Always considered the activity beneficial to the health. Besides, the rustling of my witch's broom did sound music to my ears.
The other day, as I stooped to pick up dustpan, I found a small white feather on the ground. Instant wonderment of course. It is said that when you see a feather, an angel is watching over you.
So I whispered the prayer: Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits thee here. Ever this day, be at my side, to light, to guard, to rule, to guide. Amen.
Thank you, my Guardian Angel, for letting me know you are there.

That is true. 'Cardinals appear when angels are near.'
Even comes with a message of love, I think.

I have a book on angels and it says "Feathers appear when angels are near."
Am fascinated by the nine choirs of angels but feel especially blessed because I have a Guardian Angel of my own.

@eileenleyva that's interesting. How do we know who really is our guardian angel? I had an arab friend before and he keeps telling me about genie who he said protects us. I told him your genie is the angel to us.

@eileenleyva So mine is Barachiel. Thanks for sharing, this is a very interesting topic. Some number combination that come may come from our guardian angels too? Like my Tita's phone number? Am having goosebumps.

Last year December on the day of my mom's Birthday I was in my bedroom doing some things when I heard there was something fluttering around the room. I ignored it since I thought it might just be the winds causing it. But then I noticed that it became nearer and nearer and then I saw a small Maya Bird (native sparrow bird) coming inside my room from the balcony outside. It looked disorientated and it entered my room and even got closer to me. I got near it and tried to catch it and he barely resisted and was just looking at me intently. After that, I got out and put it back where he could fly away again. Before letting him go we tried to give him water and some food because I think he was hungry. After that, it went away on its own.
I just think it was my mom that visited me on her birthday.

That's a beautiful story. Yes, I believe that messages are sent to us via spirit animals. Perhaps just to say hello. A sparrow in your room reminded you of your mother. Message been sent. Your turn to send a message.

@rsa101 You know your mother best. Try to recall what she likes, perhaps you'll find your answer as to why a bird and not a butterfly.

I had not remembered that prayer until I read it here thank you for reminding me.
I remembered Irish Granny telling it to me.

That makes me very happy. My grandmother also taught me the prayer to my Guardian Angel. I hold my grandmother deep in my heart.
Your grandmother has bestowed on you beautiful lessons. Yup, sometimes we forget, it is but human nature, but when we remember, it's simply wonderful.

Time was, old folks were keen and bent on transferring knowledge and wisdom to the next generation. That is why Lola Basyang sat on the rocking chair and read stories embedded with 'bilin ng ating mga magulang.' (lessons from our parents)
I do the same to young people today. I keep telling them stories of the old.

@jobelbojel Mga Kwento ni Lola Basyang was a favorite also.
Do you know that Lola Basyang is a nom de plume of cumpleat magazine editor Severino Reyes. He just thought children would listen to grandmothers.

What is special about the white feather I found is that there are not many pigeons nor doves in my area.

@eileenleyva Yesterday evening I found a creme/pink feather, pretty big. There are no birds with that color here around.

A big white feather? Maybe it falls from the angel's wings

That was how I surmised it - an angel on my shoulder.
