Tomorrow is an all virtual day / myLot

Students have been back in school every day for a few months now. There are some who (or whose parents) opt to stay home and learn virtually but there are some who really want to be back in person. Tomorrow is the primary election for NJ governor and I don't know what else. The school is used as a polling place so they don't want students and staff in the building due to COVID and general security. I loved teaching virtually here from the apartment. I'd still be doing it if I was able to. Sooooo tomorrow everyone will be staying home and logging into their classes online. That means an extra 2 hours of sleep for me and I won't have to deal with trying to find a pair of pants that fit. . . at least for one day anyway.

I have never understood the school's aversion to in person stuff considering doctors, nurses, firefighters, ambulance drivers, grocery store workers, gas station operators, police, and everyone else had to go to work. And considering kids were the LEAST likely to get Covid, the exposure for teachers was nearly non existent. Everyone was at far more "risk."

I get COVID notice emails from the principal at least twice a week.

@NJChicaa So what? People get sick. People got sick. So, you mean to tell me a person can go to work every day at Walmart but a teacher has to stay home? In what world does this make any sense to anyone?

@NJChicaa You keep hanging on that damn number and it means nothing when we are talking about 8 billion people on the planet. Even with the worldwide number of 3.5 million people, we're still talking about a drop in the bucket. You did say you don't teach math right? Gosh, for the sake of the kids I really hope so.
