Lunch in the Park

The lunch in the park that the school system does for the summer started Monday. It lasts till the end of July. All kids 18 and under can go and get a free lunch. Adults can purchase the meal too though.
Today we took Eli for the first one of the summer. Not sure how often we'll take him...won't be every day for sure.
Anyways, today they were serving hamburgers, carrots, grapes, sun chips, a cookie, and milk. Pretty good choice for today as he liked everything.
Tomorrow I think they are serving hot dogs.
Does your area do something like this in the summer?
I have a photo of Eli that I took, but it's on my phone....maybe I will attach it later.

@MommyOfEli2013 yeah... so they plan to use the same buses to pick up kids from k- to high school.. to bus them over to "bus stops in the city" where they then get off the bus to get on another bus to go either to the right grade school (high school, middle school, etc).
All while they also closed down all the individual schools to make a super high school, super middle school...
its nuts!!!
If my kids were still attending public school it would be a 90 minute - 2 hour ride ONE WAY.
We moved to homeschool this year and I love it.

@Daelii That sounds like a nightmare, for sure. Very nuts! That's good you are liking them doing homeschooling. I couldn't handle that lol

If I had been there I would have eaten the lot as well.
Went Keto hunting tonight.
Somehow I think our supermarket has not embraced Keto at all.

I would have had the burger, cookie, and milk lol. But that's good you'd like it all.
Sorry to hear that Keto is not as embraced there.
There are things that are Keto that are not marked Keto though.
Bunless burgers, eggs, steak, bacon, cheese, etc... pretty much any meat as long as it doesn't have breading.

That sounds really great for kids, I am glad Eli enjoyed his first summer picnic, I do not know if there is anything like this around this area,

There isn't anything like that in our area that I know of. That's a nice way to get out; and Eli can get a free lunch too.

I don't know. There used to be a field where food trucks would come and set up. Last year they put a fence around it.

We had a school picnic the last day of school, each year. Then, nothing else over summer vacation.
