What are frigatebirds? They are amazing birds that can be found all over the world along tropical and semitropical coasts and islands. These birds have a nearly two and a half metres wingspan and can fly as high as 2,500 meters above sea level. At times these birds are referred to as "man-o-war" birds since they like to attack other birds while they are in flight and attempt to steal food from other birds.
What really makes these birds different is that the male's birds have a big red icon on their chests. The males inflate the sac when they want to attract a mate. Once they have mated the female has a single egg that both parents incubate.
These birds don't flap their wings instead they soar or glide and will grab a fish from the surface of the water beneath. These birds are known to soar over tropical and subtropical ocean throughout the Americas.

Beautiful bird and interesting that it soars rather than typical flying
