So she said to the children "I wish I could kill you right now."

Hey sweet MyLotters. I've hardly been on which I hate. I've been very busy getting work done for my childcare course. It was quite a lot of work so had many sleepless nights and was being a good girl not getting distracted with MyLot! I'm very happy to announce, I am done with my Prac. (doing practical work in a childcare centre). But I must vent about an educator at the childcare centre I was at. I don't know how to spell her name so we can call her Miss D0uche Nozzle. Miss D0uche Nozzle gave me major anxiety. She hardly smiled. Like to anyone. Her tone towards me and another student was woeful and the way she treats the children really p*ssed me off. And before I tell you the story and before you say, I have already addressed this with my teacher and we are discussing what I should do about it. I will make another post later regarding how Miss D0uche Nozzle treated me but I will just tell you about the children for now. Miss D0uche Nozzle, she's been an educator for many years. And yes, I can understand in my short amount of time how overwhelming and stressful it can be in a room full of children. Especially toddlers! But what I witnessed and heard was unacceptable. I do not care what the excuse was! And @DocAndersen this is the story I've been meaning to tell you, I'm sorry it wasn't done sooner. This woman doesn't play with the children, hardly interacts with them, and speaks to them like they are dirt. But what made it worse was these three different occasions. *One - 10 children in the room, mixture of toddlers and kindy. A toddler was crying. Miss D0uche Nozzle was annoyed by it, and she said to the child, and I quote "I wish I could kill you right now." *Two - About 8 children, mixture of toddlers and kindly. They were being....ya know, children, having fun. The cook comes in to see if more food was needed for morning tea and Miss D0uche Nozzle says to her, "Help me before I kill them." *Three - 5 - 6 children. Toddlers and Kindy, Miss D0uche Nozzle says to a toddler, like literally right to the poor little thing's face, "I wanna kill you." Now, I don't care if she actually isn't a killer and this was her way to express her stress. NO ONE should be saying this to an innocent child! And she wonders why the children don't want to go near her!

Oh my! This is not something someone should ever said to children. I think that someone will report her.

@LadyDuck For sure! There had been quite a handful of occasions a certain child was crying and wanted cuddles from me and not that educator. There was even a time when the same child was cuddling me and the educator said to another "Danielle hasn't been here that long and the children are always wanting cuddles from HER." I'm sitting right there listening to this. Such an aggressive jealous tone. If she didn't have that awful attitude then children would want cuddles from her.

@LadyDuck I'm still talking to my teacher about it. I'm just feeling like I'm in a real difficult position. But I do know I want to do something. I would be surprised if others didn't report her as I know of at least another 3 people who work there who would have also heard it. She's so horrible.

Honestly, that is why i founded my teaching society many years ago. To work around teachers like that. once burnt out, it is really hard to bring a teacher back. so we set up a forum and helped them by talking through the issues. it helped, but I moved on from teacher so it disbanded.

@DocAndersen I remember you talking about it and I admire it so much. I just can't put my finger on it if she is burnt out or just in the wrong profession as she's also stated so doesn't "put up with her own 10 year old son's BS." Though BS to her seems to be when a child is having fun. I don't know. I just know she really shouldn't be there.

@VivaLaDani13 sadly it sounds more the latter than the former (sorry I love to say that). Sometimes, you can't save teachers from themselves.

She's mad! Why is she's there in the first place? She's already hurting the children with her words. If she doesn't like the job, don't work there.

@marlina I really hope so too. And I really hope they are believed rather than the parents assuming the children heard wrong or are "imagining it."

Makes me wonder why those weren't recorded and documented and her position termenitated. You don't speak that way to children, ever. There's no excuse for it. She's in the wrong profession if she's going to be like that.

This lady needs to be removed from the situation immediately, and not be allowed anywhere near children until such time as she gets mental counseling or something. That is horrible what she has been saying to the children.

@Michellekidwell That is exactly what I am worried about as she is already quite rough with the children when trying to make them sit or move to a different location. She cannot kindly hold onto their hands. She grabs their hands and drags them.

It is very good that you write about such situations. This is unacceptable especially when it comes to looking after children. Someone like that should not work at all, in any educational, care or upbringing institution. This person should be reported and removed from there, because the children will be traumatized.
