Today is the day the state of California officially reopen. Fully vaccinated/ people can go without a mask in may places. However, they are still required on public transit and in schools. Also of note, busineses have the right to require peole to wear a mask. Most people wear masks anyway. I think that is responsible because most children are not vaccinated. It is a good day for hard hit industries like restaurants.

Good sign there and hope things stay under control. It would be better to take all necessary precautions and wear a mask for some more time.

I am glad to hear about the reopening. Here, where I am at at least, pretty much as soon as masks were derailed everyone threw them in the garbage. Now what's left of the ones in the stores are on the clearance racks and no one is buying them. lol

They can come in handy when the next inevitable forest fires occur.

@porwest yes, I think it could help—maybe if you layer 2 together. I remember the last wildfire when the N-95 masks were sold out everywhere.

@Aquitaine24 That may actually be a good use for them. Unfortunately most of them probably won't be effective against smoke, including the N95s. But it could help.

It's mostly the same for most states. Calafornia is just one of the slowest.

@sallypup plus it’s just gross to be near someone who is coughing and snuffling!

@Aquitaine24 I wish more would. A few years ago my hubby got quite ill when he rode in a bus near a guy who had a horrible cold or worse.
