I am watching TV: the covid.

I have been learning about the covid on TV and discovered, much to my horror, that animals could get it too. It seems that we are just starting to learn about this virus that has changed our lives completely. I have my vaccines and in my country the authorities are thinking about letting people that have their vaccines have more freedom. But I feel that masks, social distance and hand washing are more important. What do you think?

Yes, animals can get it too. But they might not spread the disease the same way human infect each other.

This is what they thought, but Covid can spread from animals to humans.

Lions and bears in the zoos have been found contaminated, also domestic cats and dogs. I never approach my face to the cats and wash my hands when I pet them. The vaccines do not fully protect against the Delta mutation, it seems no more than 60% protection is given by Moderna and 70% by Pfizer. The best is to continue to wear the mask, wash our hands and keep social distancing.

@LadyDuck Lately it is forbidden here to let over a couple of costumers inside a store. As for groceries, I buy online.

Yes, they have found COVID-19 in several species of animals. We have our shots but will still be wearing our masks.

@marguicha As of June 2 in Ohio you no longer have to wear masks. I think it's a bit soon for that.

Personally I don't trust the vaccine. In all my years of working in the healthcare industry I have never heard of any medication/vaccine being approved in such a short time. They have no way of knowing what they long term affects are going to be on this vaccine. People are taking just as much of a chance with the vaccine as they are at getting the virus in my opinion and that is something I am not willing to chance. In a year and a half I have not gotten the virus I certainly am not going to willingly take a vaccine that I have no idea how it is going to affect me. I social distance and wash my hands just like I have my whole life. I don't wear a mask and really haven't since all this started, well I did at work when they required it since I didn't want to lose my job but that is about it.

@marguicha Wow, still they require it there? Not here, at least where I live most don't or they have signs that say they do but I just ignore the signs.

I think that the media has done a fine job of spinning this way out of perportion, and making people scared. And, apart from masks, the govornment shouldn't have to tell you to do things that you didn't learn from your parents.
