How a guitar student made my day yesterday.

Alee is only 5-years-old, but she is very animated and loves to sing. I've been able to show her a couple of simple chords, but mostly we strum on our guitars (I'm secretly teaching her rhythm) and sing familiar songs, like Mary Had a Little Lamb, the ABC song, and a song I taught her, called The Pirate Song. She also demands that we play rock 'n roll and so we bang on our guitars, I make up silly lyrics, and we do a little head-banger head nodding. Yesterday, after our lesson, she generated this work of art while I was telling her parents what I was teaching her. She said it's a picture of herself with me. I asked her if I could keep it and put it in my "refrigerator art museum" (I stole that from an old Sesame Street episode) and she said yes. She was my first lesson, and it made the rest of a long afternoon go much better. Have any "little things" brightened your day recently?

She is pretty lucky that her parents take her to guitar lessons at such a young age,

She seems ready for it. Many 5-year-olds are not.

She must have asked to learn how to play the guitar, rather than having it forced on her.

They told me she sings all the time. But that's all I know.

She sounds like a doll! And it also sounds like she appreciates music at a very young age. Makes you wonder how far she will go with her talent!! Thanks for sharing her story! My little thing today was a bloom from a lily that hasn't bloomed yet this year. It was small but very pretty!

A flower? That's wonderful? I planted some bulbs in Montana, but I think I many have planted them in a place that gets too much shade.

You truly created a connection with Alee. I'm seeing progress in the part-time work that I have so I'm happy about that.

She sounds like an interesting child... Pretty and I now have squirrels and bunnies that seem to do part of our morning walks with us. They move along a little way and then wait until we've almost reached them before moving a ways ahead again. It's funny.

@TheHorse Hmm... that's entirely possible. It does seem like they stop at interesting things along the way. (Not always interesting to us, but they seem to like them.)

I was playing guitar ever since I was in high school. I love bass guitar and the sound it produce. It was my dream to play violin but I have no time for lessons. Take care.

That's so sweet! Hope she will always have that energy. I guess the little thing that is going to bright my day is dinner, nothing exciting expected, I'm just a lil hungry.

She is so young, I hope she enjoys and not that she is forced by her parents.
