Zeus, the cat

This may be a long post, as it has some background. It is about my older sister. !. She is a very giving and caring person. 2. She attracts odd "friends". People who sometimes use and abuse her. 3. She likes all animals and spoils them terribly. At 70 years old my sister moved into a place alone for the first time in her life.She befriended her neighbor, who has quirky family members. Believe it or not, her name is Karen. Karen has a lot of health problems and we suppose she gets some of her attitude from that. She is also a recovered addict. Karen had two love birds. One killed the other. Karen has COPD--birds are not good pets for breathing issues, she needed to get rid of the remaining bird. No one in her family could or would take the bird. Karen "guilted" my sister, Yolanda into taking the bird. She has had the bird two years. The bird, like all birds, was messy with her food, etc. She shrieked constantly unless my sister put on certain cartoons, and turned them up loud. ------------- Ron, another friend, who takes care of helping my sister with things and takes her shopping etc. had a dog. The dog died. Yolanda went to shelters with Ron and finally found him another dog. . . except he thought he might want a cat the shelter had, Zeus. The shelter made him a deal, he adopted both animals. My sister paid the adoption fees. She sometimes would baby sit the dog. Another neighbor lady would watch the dog. Ron likes the dog, but Ron has heart failure. Two pets were too much for Ron. Karen has been busy being a "Karen" lately. Yolanda finally said "enough" and found a home for the bird. Yolanda's doctor had told her to because Yolanda was allergic to the seed hulls the bird threw everywhere. Yolanda never wanted the bird in the first place and could not get out and get its beak trimmed, etc. She is adopting the cat. Zeus. Zeus is happy at her house. When Ron comes over to visit, Zeus hides so Ron cannot take him back. My sis says Zeus weighs forty pounds, but it is really more like 20. He makes my Tinker look like a small cat. Zeus likes Bob, and me, and everyone. He really likes his new home. The atmosphere in my sister's house has really changed. It is peaceful and quiet, but not dull. Zeus is a good fit. The bird, Gypsy, has a new home where the lady talks to her all the time and she can get the health problems she has taken care of. Win, win win for all people and animals included, except maybe Karen, but who knows.
