Panther Chameleons are considered to be the most colorful reptiles in the world. They make their home in the tropical forests of Madagascar. These reptiles can turn into different colors to help them blend in with their surroundings giving them camouflage and hiding them from sight. They enjoy climbing on trees and shrubs, Their long prehensile tail is used like a fifth leg and gives them balance when they climb, These chameleons can change their color within 20 seconds. They have special cells beneath their outer body layer and the cells can change their the color of their body's according to their surroundings. Color changes can also occur due to temperature and mood swings. Panther chameleons feed on insects like crickets, mealworms, waxworms, super worms, grasshoppers, silkworms, and Madagascar roaches of appropriate size. When it comes to drinking they can only drink water when it is dripping from leaves. They do well in captivity so they are also regarded as being good pets. However, they have a short life span with male chameleons living for up to 5 years and female chameleons living about 2 - 3 years,
