It's time for plastic to take a bow and leave the building

I thought for a long time that plastic should be replaced by something superior. There are many alternatives out there but this one looks so promising.
The cool part is that it's made from the part of a fungus that lives underground. Mycelium Fungus technology creates all sorts of products including--packaging instead of polystyrene, clothing, home insulation, and though it sounds rather disgusting--fungus meat and much more.
The video is very interesting and explains it much better than I can.

It's a new material to replace plastic which I believe is 100% oil based.

I've been reading about that. It sounds very promising.
Uhm... your link is to the picture on your discussion, not to the video about this subject.

Apparently I thought it would magically appear. Thank you for pointing that out.

That would be awesome if a biodegradable material could be used in place of plastic.

@misunderstood_zombie Bamboo grows fast and it grows everywhere. I have bamboo in the garden, I have to cut many stalks every year because it becomes so dense.

@LadyDuck I've only seen it grow at the zoo of all places, but I've read that it grows so fast that it will take over, so it's good you cut it down.

Yes, I agree that everything needs to be tested and thought about first, but hopefully it works.
