At 10:31 AM, my electricity went out. Coffee maker came to abrupt stop, electric fan cooling stopped & tv silent. Luckily I'd already made my toast for breakfast. At 11:15 AM electricity returned. Spectrum sent alert, service out in will be restored by 1PM...:( Glad they were wrong! Happy now at Honolulu.:)

Maybe they're telling you they're getting ready to shut it off again?

You know I just paid my bill, early too. There must have been an accident, lots of sirens blaring right after outage.

Just because you paid and paid early doesn't mean they don't like to have some fun sometimes. If I worked at a power plant, I'd tease people by turning off their electricity right in the middle of a good show on TV.
I could always say some machine in the power plant went "off-line" for a few minutes. How would anyone know it didn't?

Young man, businesses doesn't do that. There's people on oxygen, life support etc, so no one plays with it.

@oahuwriter I know it would be a problem being without electricity for many hours.

It is. I sometimes watch early morning tv, but it's what Spectrum does, occasionally.

But it's a good thing when that happens. We hear on the news of those who are without power for way too long (days and days) - that would really make me scream!

No, locally, no use no charge, so far for residential, I've not seen any reimbursement for the disruption. It goes on, really quickly, so far.

Interesting that spectrum sent the alert. Do you have a smart house? I just got spectrum on a mobile device and could have my smart devices hooked to it except the only smart device I have is the phone itself.

@oahuwriter we use a Raju, no price increases. The last one we bought lasted about eight years ago a huge savings from using cable tv

@oahuwriter Yes, he was working to change a plugin, in another room. To do this, he needed to turn off the electricity to that part of the house.

Day before yesterday, same thing happened to me. Power went out. It was out for about two hours and overnight so the house didn't heat like a sana.

Wow, you & I electricity outage, de ja vue!
I've just my stove clock to fix when outages happen. There were sirens blaring so I guess there was an accident that caused accident. Well, we both got our electricity back now.

Then you're covered. Must have been an accident, sirens blaring right after outage. By the time I reported it, tweeted about it, posted at mylot about it, checked who else nearby had the outage, complaining under my breath, fan blew again.

Usually, it comes back by 20-30 minutes. Heard sirens, right after outage, so must have been an accident.

Has your weather been extremely warm? The utility companies on the west coast of the US have warmed that there could be blackouts due to the excessive use of air conditioners, etc. because of the heat.

It is warm and sunny, but I heard sirens soon after outage, so most likely, there was an accident. We had no such warning, too so yet. Sometimes, Spectrum has long updating equipment, then they send me an email about it, but this is done usually midnight till about 4 am.
