Took out a small dead tree

There is lots of growth around my back yard. And things that eventually die off. They are trees that have volunteered and sprouted up and lived out their life. Because this was a rental property for many years things have not been well maintained. We just used a chainsaw and a pickup truck to remove an almost dead red cedar tree that was about six inches in diameter. We are loading up the trailer to take dead trimmings to the burn pile in the town. Good to have it gone. Hubby is having a little nap now. I am still washing blankets and towels. We had left over Swiss chicken for lunch with a side of green peas. There are a lot of left overs in my refrigerator right now.

Never heard of Swiss chicken but have heard of Swiss Chalet chicken restaurants.

@MALUSE Ooh, I hadn't thought of that... you could be right.

Never seen a Swiss Chalet in our part of the world. I hope, after I cook this main dish that the chicken says nothing at all. It would be a frightening thought to hear yodeling coming from the oven.

That's great that you have that chore done. I've never eaten Swiss chicken.

It may be a Midwestern thing. How about Swiss steak. That was big when I was growing up and is nothing like Swiss Chicken, which has Swiss cheese in it.

@sallypup Layer the pieces of chicken in the bottom of a baking dish. Put slices of Swiss Cheese or grated Swiss cheese if you can find it over the chicken. Make your sauce by mixing milk, cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup. Pour over the chicken. Top the entire dish with stuffing mix, drizzle a stick of melted butter over it. Cover with foil, bake an hour. Remove foil, continue baking until the temperature of the chicken says it is done. Hubby says we should put broccoli in it, and I do agree that would be good.

@GardenGerty Oh my goodness. I bet that would be good. I tend to make my own mushroom soup these days but maybe for this dish I'd buy some.

I am happy to see that's not the case for us. But that's great you got rid of the tree.

It is nice to just pull something out and warm it up.

I got rid of a very tall weed in the middle of my honeysuckle blooms. No idea where it came from. It was taller than the blooms.

One of your birds dropped a seed, or the wind blew one in. We are still having tons of cottonwood seeds blow in.
