Do the Politicians in The Squad LIKE Racism?

They keep talking about it like it's an actual thing, so maybe they're trying to "hope" it back into existence! Like 'congresswoman' Cori Bush, with her tweet (I'll try to find an image of it & put it here) saying "this is stolen land and Black people still aren't free." That's just ridiculous; but what bothered me was something 'a FOX NEWS story said in the report' - they talk about Vanessa Williams at a 4th-of-July concert singing a song "that many regard as the Black national anthem" ... NO! Tho it's possible that there weren't any Blacks (or Browns or Yellows, or maybe even Reds) in the American Revolution Army, I've NEVER thought of our national anthem as "the White national anthem!"

I imagine the Native Americans in the 1700s and 1800s considered this "stolen land".

@NJChicaa so, it's theirs "because they were there." Who's to say the colonists didn't deserve it MORE because they crossed A WHOLE OCEAN to get there?

To be fair, America was founded by people taking over lands that once belonged to others. However, with a country so diverse, I think it's shameful people still frequently talk about it in this way.

They have to do everything possible to make sure this country is divided. I wonder why people dis America when it is America that's always been on the leading edge of freedom of all varieties for all people. This country has done more to abolish injustice in its very short 250 year history than most others in far longer time spans.

Some politicians like to keep the races separate since it keeps them in power. It is a shame that they want a divided America instead of a united nation.

The short answer? YES. People who tout racism LOVE racism. It makes it so that they don't have to actually advance themselves and accomplish anything. Just blame their shortfalls on someone else and an unfair system and they don't have to do the work to right their own ships. Luckily some people actually don't buy into it and MAKE something of themselves and their lives. Barack Obama, Colin Powel, Condoleeza Rice, Ben Carson, Thurgood Marshall, Clarence Thomas, George Washington Carver, and COUNTLESS others.
