Fried Chicken For Dinner

Had some fried chicken for dinner earlier. I actually prefer the thigh or breast part but some reason I got a bag of legs since these were on sale. Marinated the chicken in soy sauce and lemon. Not a good idea as the chicken turned dark after being fried. Will just stick to vinegar and lemon as marinade next time. The photo is what was left after I had dinner so I still have some left-overs for tomorrow. Cooked around a dozen and this is what was left. In my defense, I only had chicken and didn't have rice. Do you have a preferred chicken part? How about marinades, what is your go to marinade?

Thigh, drumsticks and wings are my favorite. We don't uses sauces to marinate. Just red chilli powder, turmeric, salt, lemon juice and some use ginger garlic paste as well.

I prefer dark meat when it comes to chicken. But when it comes to fried chicken I don't want it marinated. Just give me Lee's or Popeye's and I am happy as a lark.

Popeye's is great! I've had their chicken, burger, and biscuits just once but man, I was impressed!

@porwest no Lee's here in Manila. Popeye's and KFC are really good. Can't go wrong with their chicken.

@allen0187 When it comes to fried chicken joints it's always just the fried chicken I am after. These days Lee's is the best. Popeyes is second. And third I would put KFC.

@Nakitakona true. Plus, the spiciness isn't just in the skin of the chicken but it is also in the meat.

I think you just cooked it right. It's not that overcooked and those dark spots are really normal when you marinate it with soy sauce. I hope the taste is still good.
