We have been having high - 41/42 C Highs and 30/31 C lows and considerable humidity. This means presence of more lizards. However what interests me is observing a Lizard coming to one of our bathrooms around 5 or 6 in the evening. There is a constant pattern. Amazing that at times creatures closer to the nature can be so disciplined! Any comments?

I look at the lizard as the remnant of the dinosaurs. Many a superstitious beliefs attributed to the presence of the lizard in the dwelling place. I choose to view it as good luck.

@eileenleyva Well no superstitions here although I know that many people do have different views about them.

I had one paper in my first year of Masters. It was called Animal Behaviour. We had so many interesting facts there that amused us and definitely rhythms in animals was one of them.We have a lizard in our garden and we often spot it on the same spot on our gazebo wall every evening around 7.

@arunima25 If we measure temperature on such spots at those particular time, it must be the same. As of now, there are 2 small lizards visiting different rooms in our house including kitchen. The problem is that they are small in size and such lizards can come near our feet as well.

@arunima25 Yes lizards and other creatures abound in traditional homes and mostly at the ground level.

They have to be discipline because they are actually cold blooded animals. It meant that they cannot regulate the temperatures on their own.

@id_peace But inside the homes, temperatures are at a maximum of 30-32 C so that would be tolerable for them.

@id_peace Yes and they like hotter places. So extreme Hot weather is suitable for them.

They cannot survive on extreme hot weather too. They need to be near the pool of water so that they can go in whenever the temperature is too warm for their survival.

Since I was a kid, I observed that house lizard goes out of the house and kisses the ground. Until now I wonder why.

@Nakitakona And sometimes darker colored lizards from outside come inside the house. Sometimes they run just close to where we are walking.

@kaylachan Yesterday we had two small lizards roaming in the kitchen and we had to be watchful of our steps.

Some animals do have a great sense of what time of day it is.
