Masters of Adaptation – The Common People

Humanity is one but we live in different realities.
Over thousands of years of our history, we have been influenced by where we live, the culture we grew up in, beliefs, and leaders of all ilks. Some manage to impose their personality to change our outlook even.
The stoic common folks have been survivors putting up with false promises, getting taken advantage of, and short-changed. The manipulators are luring them with baits that are anyway from the public coffers.
There are still countries where people have zilch freedom, no say on who they elect, diktats enforced and to be obeyed without question; then the endless manipulators whose only interest is their self-interest. There are wheels within the system of subjugation.
Then the wars created by a few in the name of principles and ideals by those who hardly have any. The end result is common folks made to fight and kill each other!
In fact, the reality varies in each country while only a few are really free.
That a minuscule minority have their say over the yearnings of the vast majority is a fact of life even today but then most want to be left alone.
It may be cynical acceptance or we are masters of adaptation protecting our private space and ready to pay any price though our conscience takes a hit. Well that sums up our journey with not much change in sight!
What is your take on freedom enjoyed by the common people? Are they master of their destiny? Does their writ run?

The root cause is inequality distribution of property and power. Needless to say that there are two kinds of man: the weak and the strong. I don't need to elaborate it.

Everyone is fighting for freedom in life,
We are all bound with unseen chain . It is an individual's choice to decide whether to be a slave or a master.

Yes, mostly the common people adapt to whoever their "masters" are, and to how they are being treated, but every so often, an uprising will occur, when the common people cannot take it any more, and a revolt will result, and the Government of the day could be turned over.
The "common" folk have far more power than what they usually think that they have.

@Shiva49 Yes, it's hard for the common folks, when money and position is stacked up so high on the other side, crushing them with it, whenever they try to rise up from where they are.

@innertalks Hopefully, we will find a better system of governance and justice.
We have to keep pressing on towards that goal.
