Persistive Vegetative State

I have an online foreign friend who I have communicated with for years. In February of this year he posted how his middle aged brother had been in a car crash and was awake but not awake. His eyes were open but he was not conscious. My online friend told me yesterday that his brother is still that way 5 months later. He told me to pray as the family still has hope he will come out of it. I looked the condition up online and it is called Persistent Vegetative State. It says it is very rare for a person who has it due to an accident that hurts the head to come out of it. Pray my friend's brother is that rare person to come out of it. I am so sad right now.

That is very sad...FYI for your friend, I saw a health program on alternative medicine one day, and a guy was able to be woken from a deep coma with large doses of fish oil. There was essentially no help for him other than this, so treating doctors consented..and he woke up..I mean, I don't know how long the guy was in the coma and it is somewhat different than what you are describing but...I will try to find an article. OK I found it.. This was the story I saw.

We all have different ideas of life and I would not want to 'live' in a vegetative state for a day as my doctor knows! And as my Living Will states!
