I was wondering if so many articles saying that diet soda is bad for us.
The thing is that sugar and salt are not only bad but could cause health
problems such as high blood pressure and more. So at least diet soda
have no sugar but might have some other chemicals that could cause slight
harm.

Moderation.
Too much of anything can be bad for you.
Even sunshine.
Use moderation when drinking any soda, diet or not.

I've been reading a lot of reports that claim artificial sweeteners can cause weight gain. (My daughter works out all the time but drinks diet soda and wonders why she can't lose the weight.)

@coolsite That may be true, I don't know... I try to stay away from sugar and regular soda. I don't like the after-taste of foods/drinks using artificial sweeteners.

@coolsite There are lots of "facts" out there about Trump. If he said he drank 1,000,000 cans of soda a day, then that's just another fake thing he's said. I know as little about him as I possibly can. Most of what I've heard are lies.

Yes indeed I read some of these articles , the thing is that if your numbers are high in your blood glucose
then possible that diet soda is kind of help.

The artificial sweetener aspartame is what makes diet sodas so bad for you. There is evidence it may lead to higher likelihood of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, in addition to contributing to weight gain.
When it comes to sweets and sweeteners limiting your consumption is the best policy.
