Why was Kitty fascinated by my vintage stereo amplifier at 4 AM the other night?

So the other night I am awakened at 4 AM by scuffling sounds in my house. I follow the sounds to my main stereo, and see kitty carefully studying my conrad-johnson MF-80 stereo power amplifier. Kitty appreciates good music. She lies in front of my bedroom stereo when I play jazz music in the evenings. And she often jumps in bed with me when I play guitar. But I've never known her to be overly concerned with the equipment generating the music. For the record, the c-j MF-80 is a solid state amplifier that puts out 80 watts RMS per channel. It has a slightly "tubey" sound, in spite of its being solid state. But it's not even hooked up right now. Kitty changes angles and continues to study the amplifier. Then it occurs to me that she might be interested in what's UNDER the amplifier. I lift the amplifier up and a Western fence lizard scurries off. How in the heck did a Western fence lizard make its way into my house? I look at Kitty's face for clues. Total innocence. I go back to bed grumbling, hoping the lizard finds its way outside. If that thing dies in here, Kitty is going to be on punishment no wet food for...wait. She's rubbing against my leg now. Never mind.

Live toys are the best toys. Live music is the best music. Kitty actually has good taste. I feel a song is dying to be written here.

You're been successfully brainwashed by Kitty.

That is correct. s I have said before, cats control the human race. Could cats actually be space aliens?

They do indeed. Kitty ignores the toys I've bought for her but attacks my shoes when I am tying them.

I was thinking there was going to a mouse or something under the amp. Sounds like Kitty is really ruling the roost there. A few purrs and a leg rub and she will be forgiven everything.

Exactly. She has me right where she wants me. But I have won one battle. I will have to write about it.

@TheHorse I'm keen to see which battle you won - and if it is a permanent win or is she just thinking up new strategies!

Music is nice, it makes nice vibrations. Purr. Lizards are nice too, purr. Well, at least the mystery has been solved.

@TheHorse Hmm, I wonder if Kitty is involved... or would that be too "elementary"?

Now I have to solve the mystery of the sparrow feathers that appeared in front of my turntable two nights ago. Hmm.

Cats are terrible, I always menace to punish the cat should he kill a bird or a lizard, but he comes and rubs against me and I can do nothing.
