July 19 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today is predictable. In 68 years, I think it might have rained a handful of times on my birthday. It's always hot, always humid. Usually, it's the hottest day of the summer. I looked up the hottest day of summer on the Internet a couple of years ago and wasn't surprised when it landed on the 19th of July. It was so hot the day I was born, my mother told me the bobby pins rusted in her hair. That's hot!
I mentioned in my last post there was a glitch for today. It's not the weather. It's the office. They decided to show my apartment today without notice. I told her I didn't receive a notice for today. She tried to defend herself in front of the potential renter by telling me someone must have taken it from my door. I know that never happens. Not in the five years I've been here. I wasn't happy, but let her in any way.
Okay, so what I'm thankful for today.
I'm thankful my son picked me up this morning and took me to the Y. I had a wonderful workout in the pool. I wanted to get into the fitness center too, but he was already there to pick me up.
Instead, I'm thankful I walked the trail this morning. It was the first time in over a week. My back is finally feeling good for the walk.
I'm thankful for the phone call from @DianneN and the lovely gift she sent me and the card which both arrived while I talked with her.
I'm thankful I have my fitness goals almost complete. I have the last hourly steps coming up. I passed 10K several hours ago, helped along with swimming and the trail.
And finally, some of you are waiting for this news. My birthday weigh-in. I didn't lose as I hoped I would. However, I'm thankful I only gained 2 pounds. I am at 177 today.

Happy Happy Birthday once again, I enjoyed our phone chat, as usual, and am so happy you wound up having a wonderful birthday. It was wonderful being on the phone with you, especially when I was “there” when your gift arrived and while the mailwoman dropped off the birthday card. So happy you loved both, Remember to strut when you carry that pocketbook/purse/handbag/tote! Enjoy the package for your move, too!

I wouldn't be happy with people showing up at my day unannounced Glad your back was feeling good. I know one day last week when we were having a hot day, it showed me the tem stperature last year was 100 degrees! Thank God we haven't had any 100 degree temps this summer..and I hope it stays that way. Even if it does get hot in August, late summer heat waves don't bother me as much, the days are shorter and it is frequently less humid.

I'm glad you haven't had 100 degree days. We haven't either, but we're having a record number of 90 degree days.

I went to the Y. That's always special, and I made a chocolate mug cake and had coconut milk chocolate ice cream.

I am grateful that I was able to get my pay reward from Survey Junkie this afternoon as well as the afternoon shower that took away the heat from this morning.

That lady was pulling your leg, they hadn't notified you to show your apartment. I'm glad your son took you to the pool, that's always a great experience! 177 is a far cry from 180, which you registered at in June. You're three pounds lighter, at this time!

I see you're keeping track. I thought my last mention was 175. I just looked back, my lowest in June was 174.8 on the 30th. I was 175.2 exactly one month ago, June 19.
I seem to do better the last few days of the month, so I'm hoping I can get it down again before the end of the month and register a loss on August 1.
She wasn't pulling my leg. She was flat-out lying.
