And Yet Another Friend Dying From Covid-19

Well, it's my cousin's husband. He, and his immediate family, swear that the vaccines will kill them so they refused to take them. Now he is in the hospital, in ICU, on a ventilator. Going on the 10th? day. He wishes he would have taken the vaccine, he asked for one when he got there. But they told him, he can't have one while he is positive for the virus. Will people ever LEARN? I have lost family and friends. Every loss hurts.

@MarieCoyle that's very sad. I hope he can still recover. You have to watch oxygen level once you are hit by virus.

@florelway I absolutely could not wait to get a vaccine. The day they opened them up, I signed up.

No, he is a healthy 40 year old. Works out, swims a lot. His main illness is he is stubborn. That's not an illness, but now he is on a ventilator due to being stubborn, so..

I´m so very sorry that he thought that about the vaccine. Although vaccine will not stop the virus, it will be a lighter illness.

You can keep telling someone that, and explain patiently, however not many really want to listen. And you are right.

@marguicha In the area I live, our vaccination rate is good. However, many of my family and friends live in many places that people don't think much of vaccines.

That is sad, and so preventable. People need to learn to listen to their doctors and leaders. I don't get that I don't believe in the vaccine mentality. it's insane, and selfish.

@MarieCoyle I agree. I am ashamed I have some family members who haven't gotten it either. It is beyond me honestly.

Yes, it's selfish. People don't think about it, but not getting the vaccine puts other people in danger, and could be so easily prevented. Totally insane not to get it.

Let's pray he lives through this so his family could attest to the truth about the disease. Sometimes, a difficult experience could provide a good lesson for others.

@MarieCoyle The horrifying hoax about the vaccine confused many people. Very unfortunate that people did not listen to reason and stood their grounds against the vaccine. Yet, let's hope the medical staff could somehow reverse the condition....

Some of these people are now begging for a vaccine when they go to the hospital, but it's too late to get one when they have Covid already.

Billions of people around the globe have taken the vaccine, and we're all still here. It hasn't killed us. I can't believe that people think that way. I'm sorry to hear the news of your cousin's husband getting the virus, but this is the price people are going to pay for not getting vaccinated. I hope he recovers.

We have lost several family members from the virus, all people who weren't even old, they refused the vaccine.

You are right that every loss hurts. This virus is ruthless and no one is safe till everyone is safe. I am surprised to see the way people are protesting across the Globe against vaccination and refusing to take it. Sorry about your loss.

@MarieCoyle I got the virus in April just a day before my vaccination appointment. I got it at my workplace from one of colleagues. It was horrible. I took my first shot as soon as 90 days of recovery was over.

@arunima25 I am so sorry you got it, but glad you survived. I know one lady who told me over the phone, she thought it would kill her and she had never in her life been so sick.

It seems like so many people do not take it seriously. UNTILit hits them, or a loved one close to them. I don't know how to wake these people up. I don't think anyone does.

Most of us of the baby boomer generation well remember being lined up for polio vaccines. There was no choice. You got it, or you didn't go to school. I don't understand it, either.

That's so sad. God help your family & others to get well again, amen. Thank you, God, in the name of Jesus, amen. You know, because of medical reasons, U can't get vaccinated. If I could I would get vaccinated. I spray a lot of Lysol and use bleach for cleaning.

Yes, some people cannot due to medical issues. I have a medical condition, but since 2 doctors told me if I did get Covid, I would not survive, I got the vaccines. It was a choice and that is what I decided. But I do understand your predicament. I hope you stay well, thank you for your kind words.

@oahuwriter Yes, I had some side effects. The first vaccine, after 5-6 days my upper arm swelled up red and had heat in it. I felt tired. It went away. The second vaccine made me really tired the next day, but no skin reaction. I was not surprised at this reaction, as I am allergic to a lot of stuff, and usually if I get shots they do react similar to this. I got Moderna.
