Man Jailed for Animal Cruelty

An approximately 10-month-old Siberian Husky was abandoned by the side of the road in Horizon City, Texas. Fortunately for the poor dog, someone was videotaping the incident, including the license number of the car. The car drove off; and the husky chased after it. You can view the video below. Seeing that beautiful dog chasing the car breaks my heart.
The video went viral; and the man was arrested. Another person was in the car, the person that unleashed the dog; and he is expected to be arrested as well.
The dog was rescued by a volunteer of Pawsitive Rescuers of El Paso and put up for adoption. A kind lady saw the video and adopted the dog.
I don't know whether I want to be absolutely livid with the person/s that did this to the dog or if I want to be extremely sad. Maybe a combination of both.
I'm glad that the man was arrested; and I hope he serves some jail time and is assessed a hefty fine. He is currently out on bond.

@LindaOHio It makes no sense. It doesn't cost anything to take a pet to an animal shelter and just tell them you can't afford to keep them anymore or that you've moved into a place that won't allow pets. There's no reason to put him out beside the road and just drive off.

I am much more concerned about people who abandon their children. He didn't hurt the dog and maybe being young he didn't know you can just bring an animal that you no longer want to a shelter or maybe there wasn't a shelter nearby. I have had a husky, they can be difficult to manage for an inexperienced owner. I am not saying this is the right thing to do but I think he just needs to be educated not punished.

@LindaOHio I think a lot of people adopted pets when the pandemic started and now realize it’s a lot of work. With all the real crime there is this seems a little silly. He has been humiliated maybe a fine is enough

I am in complete agrement with you, and yes you should feel angry with the people who abandoned the dog and also sorry for the dog. Unfortunately dogs suffer a great deal by being abandoned. It isn't just that they will have no food or water but also because they are pack creatures and they have been thrown out of their pack.

It is so easy to place animals anymore that it was unnecessary to do that to the poor dog. We find stray cats at times out here.
