Lots of Pelicans

We are enjoying the resident avian wildlife here. Every day the brown pelicans form a line and fly over the ocean and skim the suface feeding. Several hours later the same line of birds come back. It's their routine.
Yesterday I was sitting on the balcony just enjoying the sceneray when this lone pelican flew by overhead. I was lucky because I had the zoom on my camera already and managed to get this shot.
We are enjoying our stay and so far the weather has been pretty good. The afternoon rain showers are short.

@kareng The humidity isn't bad where you are because you get the ocean breeze. Try visiting where I live in the center of the state, where we don't get the ocean breezes. It's like living in our own little personal hell here with the high heat and humidity.

@moffittjc That sounds too much like home. My daughter said the same thing today! Weather is better down there, but yes, we did have the ocean breeze.

You know not to look up when the group of pelicans fly over, right? It might not be a rain shower coming down.

we are going to Annapolis for a couple of days
then Rehoboth Beach (our favorite) we were going to Ocean City but I complained!

@kareng I know I don't mind scattered/isolated storms. It keeps the hurricanes away.

Yes, just down the eastern coast of FL with one of the daughters and her family. The kids were really excited to go to the beach!. They had a great time. The hubby and I are heading to Biloxi Sunday for a quiet week with no kids--although I have to say the kids were well behaved.

The ocean is full of fish and many kinds of birds which feed on fish never leave the waters during the day.
