A sudden change!

Hi dear mylotters. I didn't posted anything for some days because I was very busy with my new life in the same old place. On 30th July, cbse finally announced our marks. So, our exams got cancelled so they are giving the marks on the basis of a no. things. I was very sad because they gave me 10% less than the class 10th marks while other students got the same. I cried and cried a lot. Then grandma comforted me with her sweets. And my friends from the former school video called and said things about them. Anyway, it may be a mistake. Then on 31st July, many friends and classmates called. We discussed about the marks and about our future which is currently depended on the internet. Almost all of us discovered we need more internet for our college. Sadly, most of my friends are going to other cities to study. But right now everything is still online because of the partial lockdown. Yet, some of them are going away and settling already. So, there were fairwell video chats to attend. And we did it yesterday. I am staying in my home though, with my grandma and ma. I am content with that. I already filled the application for Ignou university which is a distant learning uni. My confirmation email is yet to come. But I have started studying. I took history and English major. The books are tough....e books I mean. The change is so sudden. I wish my school days were back. But now I'm officially done with school life. Sob sob!! P. S. - Image from google from 123RF.

I'm sorry the grades weren't as good as you'd hoped. I'm sure you would have done much better if you could have taken the exams... I'm sure your mom and grandma are thankful you will be staying with them instead of moving far away. Don't feel too sad about your friends moving away. You'll still be able to see them through video chat. That's almost as good as them still being close to you. (I'm sure all of you will enjoy college and find great jobs after you graduate.)

@Anqaya You're very welcome... You never know, you might be able to work from home when you graduate from college. I'm sure your mom and grandma would like that. Don't worry about that now, though. Lots of things can happen over the years.

Thanks for your comforting words. Yes. I would have scored much higher. Yes they are very glad I'm staying in town. I have no siblings and no other relatives who live in my town. Ma and grandma would have been very lonely. I can't see how I would have gone anywhere. Besides covid 19 makes it even tougher. I'm happy for my decision too though maybe I would have to go elsewhere for a job.

Don't feel sad these grades don't define how good you are at your studies. Good luck for your future plans

I suppose you're right. Still from 91% to direct 81 is disturbing.

Let me congratulate you first . Don't be upset of the less percentage. Its may be because many colleges have taken both the classes ( class XI & class XII) into consideration. Though you got good percentage in your class Xth (91%), why did you take up Arts?

@Anqaya ohkkkk....its not necessary that one has to be doctor if you take science. There are several fields.. And you could have dropped maths if you don't like it..... Anyways it's your choice..... Hope you do good in whatever path you have chose.

@S4mmyboy I don't like science at all actually. I love social Science and English. And I love literature and history. Don't know about the job but most probably I'll try upsc.

I also felt sad when school and college was over. However, there were also several things I wanted to end. I ddi not like studying by heart. What I missed was the enjoyment we had in school and college. Ten years of my life were spent in many mistakes and I finally changed myself after reading spiritual books. For ten years, I had been beaten up by many people and I need to change.

It's good to hear you are finally enjoying your life after many mistakes. I wish my case is the same. And I also miss the enjoyment with my friends.

It's not a matter to get sad. Grades don't matter You should think of the future now, no one is going to ask about your marks in 10th or 12th.

After ten years, you would be telling this as an experience to someone and you would smile at it. I am not ignoring your feelings, they are justified and you will feel bad when you get less than expected. But always remember that you are much more than marks and life is much more than exams. You will survive and do very well. Stay happy and confident.

@Anqaya Covid is not going to go away. Once there is a virus out it is there to stay. But hopefully, it would not be a pandemic condition and we will have better protections through vaccination and better treatment. It would become like any other regular infectious disease. Just work on your health and immunity to fight it better.

Dear Amelia, I taught CBSE, ISC and WBSB students. Because of the pandemic education system has gone Topsy Turvy . Results this year was "good " for undeserving students but unjust on industrious students. West Bengal showed 100 pass results which in normal conditions would have been impossible. Don't be sad if you are dissatisfied with your results. Now, you are going to get an opportunity to prove your real worth.

Thanks for your advice. I will really study hard from now on. I want to see who will beat me. Yes, I know about west Bengal's news since we have relatives there. It is really unfair for us. Anyway nothing can be same due to the virus.
