Shocking

A 6th standard boy committed suicide after losing 40,000 in a gaming platform Free fire. He used his mom's bank account to pay for the money and later realised his mistake and in fear of getting scolded by his parents committed suicide. I wonder whose's fault it was? Were the parents not aware of their child playing such games? Who told him about such games? Maybe his friends play the game too? Using the Internet, getting used to it knowing about it is today's need, no doubt today's generation should know how to use it in 'proper' manner, they shouldn't be cut out of using it completely but parents, teachers or the Guardians must be aware of what their child is doing on the web, Children need privacy but parents should not completely leave it upon themselves..they should be taught about the cyber security, cyber attacks, bullies etc.

A child should not have access to his/her parent´s Bank account. And the Internet should not have those games either.

@sjvg1976 This is when I think that the parents had too much money and did not bother much with their child.

Absolutely his parents should not have given him the access to their bank account. It's strange they could not get to know that their kid is withdrawing money from their account

I hate to criticize parents that are grieving but allowing a child access to your bank account without monitoring it, is foolish. It's really a sad story.

Also I am suprised as he might not have spend 40k Rs in one go. Didn't her mother get the messages on her phone when the amount got deducted.

Maybe his parents' also used to play it, and the boy got hold of his parents' phone, and then the disaster happened.

They should have kept their bank details hidden from their child or at least should keep an eye on his activities

That is very sad. I don't know this game, but some games are very addictive and sometimes people spend a lot of money on them. I think it is really important that the parents don't give their children access to credit cards or bank accounts. It is so easy to spend too much on games, and if the parents aren't interested in games or don't know anything about games they might not know how much some of those games cost.

Oh that is really sad. Parents should check out their kids . I always remain cautious about the kids. But sometimes we cannot get a hint of what they do, same might have been the case with this kid.

Sad but he wouldn't have taken the drastic step.. This shows his parents didn't know what the child was doing..
