Today was our first Co op wide meeting. All five schools that have employees in the special education cooperative met together to kick off our year. Classified staff, like myself, only went until lunch.
We had a motivational speaker, and also learned of changes in our hand book and insurance providers. We snacked on fruit and donuts. Signed confidentiality paperwork and filled out a form to claim mileage for coming. We learned about changes coming up for online record keeping of our continuing education.
Lots of new staff was introduced as well.
There was a drawing for door prizes and an array of things to choose from. I was one of the later ones to be called but that is okay.
I chose a new waterproof "swim bag" seen in the picture.
I like it. If my student comes back I hope to be able to take him swimming on a weekly basis.
But wait--there's more!!
Businessesss and such that were impacted by covid were given grants. Our co operative chose to divide that money and give us each a small stipend to use as we choose. Before taxes it was $150. It of course varied in net amount depending on our tax bracket, but it was nice to be given that token of recognition.
Yep, I am a winner.

That phrase started with a television entrepreneur who sold all kinds of interesting gadgets. He would give his spiel then cry out "but wait, there's more!. His last name was Popeil and he made "pocket fishing poles" and other stuff.

I remember in high school, the Green Door Knob Society (of which I was a part) put on a "happening" complete with a door prize... an old door with a green door knob. We thought we were sooo coool. Can't remember if anyone won it, though.
Congrats on your win.
