Another Visit With Cotton the Owl

While visiting the park the other day, I spent some time with Cotton, the rescued owl at the state park. The rangers are taking good care of her. She will be visiting the school this week. I can tell she has grown over the years I have been visiting. The rangers rescued her in the snow as a baby. She could not fly. What a pretty owl she is. And lucky she was rescued. Photo is mine.

@CarolDM You are welcome and so glad she is doing well. From what you wrote it sounds like they are taking good care of her. Does she have other company or is she alone and ok being alone?

She stays in the cage and cannot be rehabilitated. Some type of injury to her wings.

Owls are such cool looking birds. I remember seeing one on top my garage as a teen. He was there most of the day and suddenly flew off as silently as he arrived. In my region I've seen a few snowy owls at Island Beach State Park, a open coastal area in NJ.

She was lucky. While its sad she can't return to the wild, she's alive and happy. that's a blessing in and of itself.
