Mongoose that keep reptiles away

There is enmity between a reptile and a mongoose and that makes us feel comfortable as we have several of them running around our property
They are quite friendly and we sometimes see them coming for food that we keep for our pets.
Looks like it is the mating season

I have never known any mongoose biting a human being or pets

@allknowing but they can poison the food if kept in front of them.

@sjvg1976 We never keep our food in front of them. They have eaten food that is kept for pets but our pets are not affected.

Somehow during the pandemic snakes have disappeared. Probably their original habitat is not invaded by human beings.

@allknowing I know at the being of the pandemic there were reports of wild animals coming into the villages and areas that they generally avoided.

Mongoose..we have many of them here..
It's said that if we see mongoose our day will be good
But I see them almost daily
It's good to have them as snakes are frequent visitors here

why is it they look like an elongated rats, isn't it. but if they are friendly, then I would not mind feed them. And I think they kill snakes also. I saw it on youtube stories.

They dig for any tubers and yes they are destructive that way. We do not plant anything in the ground that produces tubers now.
