There is enmity between a reptile and a mongoose and that makes us feel comfortable as we have several of them running around our property They are quite friendly and we sometimes see them coming for food that we keep for our pets. Looks like it is the mating season

@sjvg1976 We never keep our food in front of them. They have eaten food that is kept for pets but our pets are not affected.

That's good that you have some in your immediate area. Do you often see snakes?

Somehow during the pandemic snakes have disappeared. Probably their original habitat is not invaded by human beings.

@allknowing I know at the being of the pandemic there were reports of wild animals coming into the villages and areas that they generally avoided.

why is it they look like an elongated rats, isn't it. but if they are friendly, then I would not mind feed them. And I think they kill snakes also. I saw it on youtube stories.

They dig for any tubers and yes they are destructive that way. We do not plant anything in the ground that produces tubers now.
