Do cats have a preference for using their right or left paws?

The left paw has it?

I have noticed that my cat Lucy is definitely left pawed. It is easy to observe that because she jumps on my chair when I am eating and it is the left foot that comes up to let me know that she would take the food off my plate if I let her. Has anyone else observed this?

I think you are right. I notice both of mine seem to prefer their left, but they do not eat human food.

I have three other cats but they are not so much around me as Lucy. she is a home loving cat whereas the others are more street wise. I shall try and make more comparisons.

Some cats do favor one side over the other. I can't tell if mine do or not, because none of them really seak human food.

I think you have to observe closely when they are on the hunt.

I never noticed mine. I should try that. Maybe some of my cats are left handed like me.

I don't have a cat. Interesting observation.

I've heard of it before but haven't really noticed it. It's a long time since we had a cat.

This is an interesting question. I noticed that the orange cat of my neighbors tends to use his left paw. Now I have to watch the other two that are always in my garden.
