I was looking up news items on FB since I don't have cable or local TV to bring some in. On one of our stations, they did an article how a woman in an Australian supermarket, was in the spice isle and a snake poked it's head out within eight inches of her face. Ironically, the woman is a trained snake catcher and ran back to her home to get her snake bag to catch the huge non-venomous python. She released the snake into the woods. She thinks it was a male looking for a mate. They are neat to see from afar. I have a rat snake living under my tiny house. If you want to read the quick story, here is the link.
CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — Helaina Alati was browsing the spice aisle of an Australian supermarket when she came face-to-face with a huge snake. The head of the 3-meter-long (10-foot-long) non-venomous diamond python emerged through a space in a shel

Oh, that was a lovely specimen! I'm glad she was able to safely relocate it to somewhere more appropriate. I see way too many people here react to snakes like that with fear, even though they pretty much just want to avoid humans and find tasty little critters to eat.

I'm happy it was a snake handler that the snake came out to. Happy ending.

A branch of my company is near the woods. In fact the canteen was facing a cemetery while the front area is facing the woods. They're not even on the main road. So there was an accident where a snake decided to nap on a chair at the canteen. I was visiting at the time so I heard of the accident.

I would have fainted, I cannot stand snakes. I know that we have a water snake that comes to our garden, I am fine because he keeps the garden clean. I hope not to meet him.

@noni1959 We do not have rattlesnakes here in Switzerland but we have a small poisonous snake (aspis viper) that likes to hide under the rocks, hard to spot when you go hiking, it is suggested to bring an anti poison kit.

I'm not fond of snakes but many keep the critter population down. I have a fear of rattle snakes and those that are extremely dangerous.

@LadyDuck I looked this up and one photo showed the snake almost the same color as the foliage it was in. How scary.

It looked so huge. I saw a youtube video the other day of a python crossing a road. It was so long. I can't believe how big they get.

Good thing it wasn’t venomous but how perfect a snake catcher was the one to find the snake!

That was good that she was a trained snake catcher otherwise a normal person would have fainted in such situation.

Scream! I’m terrified of all snakes small or large, poisonous or not. I would have had a heart attack on the spot if that happened to me.
