Wow--From Sunshine to Hail

I expected some rain in the morning hours but we had none. The sky was cloudy and overcast and it was just bleak looking. Wildlife is also quiet as a Church mouse. There are no birds chirping, in fact I haven't seen any. I usually see lots of birds in and around the yard here and squirrels too. I do believe they all went into hiding for Hurricane Ida coming our way.
The sun peeked out mid afternoon and it looked like a pretty day for about an hour. The next thing I hear is hail pinging on the roof and the air conditioning units. That is a major change. We had a steady downpour for about 45 minutes, lost internet connection and also satellite for television.
Everything is back up for the time being. It's going to be a LONG weekend! The storm is projected to pass through my area around 1-2 pm on Monday.

I am hoping and praying that the Lake Charles area will be spared from any blackouts tomorrow afternoon since the latest weather report says that the Lake City area will have some winds and rain but not many chances for blackouts.

@Deepizzaguy That is the scary part. They said up to Memphis, TN could expect to lose power! That is huge! Stay safe, George!!

@kareng I will stay safe since the house is stacked with food and drink. Most likely some high winds and a few showers.

@Deepizzaguy It looks like we will get bit more than a "little" rain. Stay safe!

@kareng It's been quite devastating. It's finally starting to wind down a little; but it's still dangerous. 60 mph winds and flooding rains.

I hope Ida does not reach your area. I know what you mean about the weather. The cat I had before my present one was outside because it was blue skies and then all of a sudden I heard lightning and raced out to get her. She was so frightened and I scooped her up and talked to her the whole time I brought her into our apartment. That was very freaky.
