Thinking about making some brownies

This is all @simplyme 's fault. She posted about making fudgy brownies earlier and I shared my favorite recipe for them. It is from Thomas Keller's Ad Hoc At Home cookbook. I haven't made many recipes out of it but I have made the brownies several times and they are the best I've ever made. I normally defer to Bravetart (Stella Parks) for baking recipes but even her Glossy Fudge Brownies aren't as good as Keller's. Don't get me wrong--they are very good. You'd love them. But TK just does them better. Luckily I already have all of the ingredients on hand except the butter. This will give me an opportunity to use some of my Dutch cocoa powder. Somehow I have 3 containers of it! How does that even happen?

I guess you don't check your pantry before making your grocery list

I'm actually pretty good at knowing what I have in the cabinets.

Three tins of Dutch cocoa powder in my cupboard would shock nobody. I do love my cocoa. You make brownies. I have butter softening for a small batch of sugar cookies.

I know I've used it for these brownies and for Bravetart's Devil's Food Cake with Chocolate Frosting. Several times. I just don't understand why I still have so much!

@NJChicaa I bought a can of discount cocoa a year or so ago. Horrid stuff. Worse than carob in taste!! I just dumped a half cup of it into my last bread batch. It added fiber but zero cocoa taste.

I have no idea how people tend to accumulate so much without seemingly trying.

I have done that with cocoa powder also. For me it would get pushed to the back of the shelf as I dont use it a lot. Then I would buy another one
